Misdemeanors

It is our practice to appear on misdemeanor cases without requiring our clients to personally appear in court. Even in cases which are “plea bargained,” we enter pleas for our clients with written authorizations signed in our offices, protecting our clients from the inconveniences of appearing in court. It is also our practice to provide free copies of police reports and investigative reports to our clients, to fully discuss their options and to answer any and all questions about their cases.

Our goal is always to mitigate the harmful consequences that can flow from criminal convictions and involvement in the criminal justice system. We make multiple attempts to negotiate the most favorable disposition short of trial. While the vast majority of cases do not end in trial and we make every attempt to avoid the cost and risk of trial, whether or not to accept a plea bargain or proceed to trial is the client’s choice. We strive to inform our clients’ choices by discussing all possible options at every stage of the case.
